Duvets and comforters have a few key differences. A comforter is made to be used as-is— it’s one complete, quilted piece. Duvets, however, are meant to be used with a duvet cover, coverlet, or top quilt. This makes comforters easier to use but duvets are more convenient when it comes time for cleaning.
