The simplest binding to create is straight-of-grain binding. Conversely, quilts with curved edges should opt for bias binding instead. Additionally, you can machine sew the continuous binding to the front side of the quilt and hand stitch it to the back; I prefer this method as it doesn’t require any hand sewing to be done afterward on the back side of the quilt.
